RAIQL 0.17 makes operational visibility part of the application contract instead of a post-generation afterthought.

Declare capabilities

ADD OBSERVABILITY HEALTH, LOGS, METRICS, TRACES;

The compiler records these capabilities in IR and generates only the requested runtime surfaces.

Health

GET /api/health

PostgreSQL applications verify database connectivity and return 503 when the database check fails.

Metrics

GET /api/metrics

Generated routes increment request/operation counters and expose Prometheus text format.

Logs & traces

Generated API handlers emit structured JSON request logs with a correlation identifier derived from traceparent, x-request-id or a generated ID. This is a trace hook, not a full tracing backend.
